Fresh whole grain oats are locally grown in the Ottawa Valley! These Whole Grain Oats are hulless or “naked” so they are free of inedible hulls and full of natural goodness; nothing is added and nothing is taken away! Oats add a rich and nutty flavour to many different meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Once rinsed and soaked these Oats can be cooked by boiling or even cooked in a slow cooker. They make a hearty and nourishing porridge or are a great addition to many soups, stews, and even chilis. Oats can be enjoyed in place of brown rice in countless savoury dishes. Oats are full of nutrients, high in both protein and soluble fibre like beta-glucan which can help lower cholesterol and the risk of heart disease.
